WebMar 25, 2010 · You also have to remember that the same cam in a short stroke 327 might rev close to 8k but when you put it in a 383 with the longer stroke and higher piston velocity you can peak it out at 6500 or so. You lower your effective power band and pick up torque. Stroke = peak torque and power band. Bore = peak power.
