Webb31 juli 2024 · Abstract. Lambl’s excrescences (LEs) are unusual, yet significant etiology of thromboembolism. LEs are fibrous valvular strands typically occurring at coaptation lines of the left-sided valves. These occur from wear and tear of the valves and comprise of a dense core of collagenous and elastic fibrils enclosed by endothelium. Webbsyndrome. These are more common in the excrescences of the aortic valve [5]. Pathology High stress in closure lines of left-sided valves can affect a tear or a lesion in the endocardium that initiates the pathogen-esis of LE. Deposition of fibrin over this injured endocardium at the surface of the valve causes endothelial overgrowth,

The frequency and risk of embolism by Lambl's excrescences (LEs) remain unclear. We herein report an autopsy case of LEs that caused cardioembolic stroke. A 74-year-old man with colon cancer was hospitalized for ischemic stroke. His D-dimer levels were elevated. Thus, a diagnosis of ischemic stroke with Trousseau syndrome was …WebbGiant Lambl’s excrescences can be visualized by echo- cardiography and should be included in the differential di- agnosis of other cardiac masses. Lambl’s excrescences are typically identified on the aortic valve (AV) and originate as small thrombi on the endocardial surface at the site of valve closure (Fig. 16.6 and Video 16.6).Histologically, Lambl’s excrescences are projections of fibrous tissue covered by a layer of endothelial cells [].While patients with …lighting manufacturers in chicago
